Well, I've seen others talk about it (either through Facebook or Twitter), and I've had to time to sit back and reflect on it, and my answer is the same since the last time I bought, and have ever bought a lottery ticket. (For those unaware, that's the current jackpot for the Mega Millions lottery on Friday). I would give more than half of it to charity/church. Whatever else I'd have left over, I'd use it to help others that are close or are a part of my life. I'd worry about myself last (if that's even possible).
For anyone that is reading my blog, comment below. What would you do if you won the $540 million jackpot?
If I won 540 million I would probably get really disgusted with my life. I'd eat out way too much! I got a flash of how damaged my relationships with family and friends would get and I actually chose not to buy a ticket (not like I really had a chance anyways). As great as it would be, there is just nothing like working your way through life and even struggling in order to stay grounded, humble and in touch with reality.
ReplyDeleteI don't think a lot of people really take time out to think about the negative aspects to winning, more so the positive outlooks, and probably clouds people's judgements (to an extent, hence the so-called "lotto fever." I admit, I played, but $5 worth (as that's all I could really afford, and didn't feel comfortable if I allowed myself to spend more).
