Dark Knight Rises And An Angel Game

No, not on the same day, but that summed up my weekend. I went to the Dark Knight Marathon at the local AMC, and thus got to see the Dark Knight Rises at midnight, and I also went that same night to see it on AMC's ETX screen (which is their biggest screen, that although big, still pales in comparison to the IMAX screens). As for why I saw it again on the same day, it's simple. I won two tickets and chose Friday night.

I thoroughly enjoyed The Dark Knight Rises (kind of obvious since I've seen it twice already), and it surpassed The Avengers as my top movie for the year. As far as top spot goes, I guess you can put that in the blockbuster category, as the movies that are usually nominated for Academy Awards (Best Picture, etc.) have yet to come out, and those are in a category all on its own.

The main villain in this film (don't want to spoil too much) was Bane, played by Tom Hardy. His goal is to carry out Ra's al ghul's mission in Batman Begins. I won't say what that mission was (has to do with Gotham), so if you need a refresher course, I recommend seeing the film before this one. Actually I recommend seeing both Batman Begins and The Dark Knight before seeing the new one in theaters. There is Catwoman in this movie (played by Anne Hathaway), whom delivers a solid performance as Catwoman.  Lastly, Bale is back, in what is likely to be his last take as Batman (unless he's back for the Justice League movie that's on track to finally be made into a movie).

Lastly like I said, there was an Angel game. That wasn't worth mentioning much about, as we left after the fourth inning. We left early because it was uncomfortable, and the Angels had fallen behind 7-0. In all honesty, we actually got up and walked around after Santana got pulled in the second inning.
