As for the matches themselves, they were entertaining, and about what you would expect for a house show. The opening match featured Brodus Clay taking on Jack Swagger. The last time I saw Jack Swagger in competition, was the night he won the US Championship on Raw down in Anaheim, or at least I think it was Anaheim. The winner of the match was Brodus Clay.
The second match had myself, my brothers and a friend of one of my brothers going who? We saw Tensai (formerly known as Albert) take on a guy from NXT (hence the who) Bo Dallas. The match featured a few bright spots (mostly delivered from Bo Dallas), and he went on to beat Tensai.
The third match featured Alex Riley against Damien Sandow. I'm going to go out on a limb (probably not that big of a limb actually) and predict Sandow will have a big 2013. The reason being he is good on the microphone, and gets heat from the crowd rather easily, which are big. Sandow came out and delivered his normal three questions, which a crowd member must answer, but he saw the crowd as being rather unfit, and answered the questions himself. The end result was no surprise either, as Sandow defeated Riley.
One of the best parts of the nights was next, and that featured CM Punk coming out to the ring saying he couldn't wrestle, and had a fake doctor's note, and moments later Dolph Ziggler came out along with AJ Lee and Big E Langston with Dolph Ziggler faking he was sick (he wore a white mask over his mouth), and also had a fake note. As they were getting ready to leave the ring, Vickie Guerrero came out (and my surprise was cheered, not booed) and announced the tag team match between CM Punk & Dolph Ziggler against Ryback and John Cena. She also announced a crowd's choice match between The Miz and Antonio Cesaro. The two choices were 2 out of 3 pin falls, and the third being a no disqualification match for the United States Championship.
I'm not sure of the order of the next two matches, but as for the match between The Miz and Antonio Cesaro, this match was probably the match of the night. There was a kendo stick involved in the match, chairs, a table (that came in play after the match). Cesaro (the champion) toyed with the crowd when he went to look under the ring. The crowd wanted the table, and he proceeded to start taking out the table, then he put it back when the crowd was cheering for it. Afterwards when The Miz had the table out, and proceeded to get hit with the table, thanks to a sliding Cesaro kick, Cesaro picked up the table and put it back under the ring. Cesaro eventually went on to win the back and forth match thanks to placing the ref in front of him, poking the Miz in the eyes, and delivering his finishing move. Post match, The Miz delivered a spear through the table that had been set up in the corner of the ring.
The Divas match, was perhaps the most boring match of the night, and Kaitlyn ( the new divas champion), got a nice ovation. She faced Tamina Snuka (daughter of Jimmy Super Fly Snuka). Kaitlyn eventually won the match.
The match with the biggest surprise came between Zack Ryder and Cody Rhodes. The only reason why I say so, is because Cody Rhodes has a match for the tag team championship belts coming up either tomorrow night or at the Royal Rumble next week, yet he lost to Ryder, who will only be in the Royal Rumble match, and isn't exactly getting pushed on tv.
Up last, was the main event. CM Punk, Dolph Ziggler against Ryback & John Cena. This match was entertaining. CM Punk toyed with the crowd before the match, when he pointed out a fan and took off his shirt and acted like he was going to throw it to a fan, and instead just dropped it in front of him on the mat. Cena didn't seem to be involved much in the match, with most of it being Ryback in the ring, however the match did end up with Cena delivering his trademark finisher on Ziggler to win the match. Ryback was surprisingly the last one to the leave the arena for the night, as Cena pointed to him before he left, following the match.
