Sony's 2012 E3 Showing

Sony in my opinion had the best E3 showing so far (as Nintendo's is tomorrow). What exactly did Sony show off? They showed off a new White PS Vita that will be bundled up with Assassin's Creed III: Liberation for the Vita. The game itself is the first game in the Assassin's Creed line that will feature a female assassin as the person you control. The game, according to Sony has been built from the ground up for the PS Vita. The bundle should be released this fall around the same time Assassin's Creed III for consoles is available.

Games for the PlayStation 3 that were shown were Beyond: Two Souls (which stars Ellen Page). The game takes a tackle on the question. What happens after death. The lead character (Ellen Page) character apparently experiences death, and comes back with some sort of entity, over the course of 15 years (or something along those lines). Visually speaking, and storyline wise, the game has a strong appeal to it. Sony showed off their fighting title, which looks like a Super Smash Brothers clone (which stars Nintendo characters), and this game like that one stars Sony characters. The game itself is called PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.

Perhaps the biggest dud Sony showed was Wonderbook. It's an interactive book that you will use the PlayStation Move in order to use it, and the first book title is J.K. Rowling's Book of Spells. I don't think I've ever seen a more unappealing title from Sony, and the response from the crowd seemed to match it. The people demoing the game seemed uninspired, and it came across on screen. If Sony had more hopes for this, they would have got J.K. Rowling herself to promote the thing at E3, but that wasn't the case.

The last two games Sony shown off left me wanting more, and I imagine a lot of other people. Sony shown off God of War Ascension, which is the latest in the God of War series, and then proceeded to show off Naughty Dog's latest game: The Last of Us. Last of Us has a darker Uncharted feel to it, as the lead characters almost look the same. The game play they showed off for the game could have been more appealing, if they had chosen a scene that didn't have much cursing, as the sensors were bleeping left at right (it seemed). Both games will apparently be released in 2013.
